Private Maths Tuition

I have extensive experience teaching mathematics at key stages 3,4 and 5. I specialise in GCSE and A-Level mathematics. I also teach further maths GCSE and further maths A-Level.

Exam Papers

Maths for Granted have produced three practice higher and foundation papers for each year.

Questions are written, compiled, and adapted from AQA, OCR, AQA Level 2 Further Maths, Edexcel GCSE, IGCSE and IGCSE Specimen B to allow for a broad selection of questions. I also write questions of my own, sometimes using AI software.

PDF question papers and QR code YouTube video solutions are available, alongside suggested grade boundaries.

About Me

Hello, my name is Liz Grant. Thank you for taking the time to look at my web page and the maths tuition services I have to offer. I have been teaching mathematics for 30 years. I have extensive experience teaching in school settings and tutoring students privately. I have recently taught mathematics for several years at a local grammar school in Southend with an outstanding reputation. 

I teach Key Stage 3, GCSE and A-Level Mathematics. I also teach further maths GCSE and further maths A-Level. My teaching goal is always to make mathematics accessible, engaging and rewarding. 

Additionally, I have been an examiner for the Edexcel board. I am very familiar with the assessment criteria for both GCSE and A-Level mathematics exams. I am also chief marker for the 11+ school entrance examinations for the Consortium of Selective Schools in Essex.

Private Maths Tuition

From September 2021, I have been available for private tuition. September 2025 and 2026 start waiting lists are currently available.

I provide maths tuition from my mathematics studio at my home in Rochford, Essex, where students visit me from the surrounding areas, including Hockley, Rayleigh and Southend. I believe mathematical misconceptions can be identified and corrected more easily in a face-to-face environment. Online tuition, via zoom, or ClassIn may also be available for students further afield.

Using a variety of resources: whiteboards, textbooks, worksheets, mathematical games, past examination papers and PowerPoints, I will deliver targeted lessons to match the ability of the tutee.

All tutees will have supported access to 100s of my freely available video tutorials.

Employing a private maths tutor may not be accessible to everyone, so I have created free video tutorials to aid independent study for all.
 
I have created lots of video tutorials to help students with their remote learning. Special thanks are extended to Dr Jamie Frost at www.drfrostmaths.com  and Tom at www.goteachmaths.co.uk who have kindly allowed me to adapt some of their resources into video tutorials.
